At home in the mall parking lot.
We are about to leave the Sonoran Desert and Quartzsite, Arizona. Traveling north back to our ranch high in the Colorado Rockies near Westcliffe. We expect to leave here on Wednesday.
We felt the trailer rocking as the 7.2 earthquake rolled under us from Mexico on April 4. This was the second earthquake we have felt this season here in the desert, a first and second encounter for us. A weird feeling watching the electronics and counter items rock and sway.
What a wild winter this has been! The wind has been crazy and lots of rain. Looking out over the mountain sides one sees lots of new growth and grasses reaching out for the warm sun. We expect to see and document lots of desert wildflowers this year.
David is looking forward to the 2010 Tea Party Tax Day Protests. He will meet the local Westcliffe Tea Party at 5:30PM in front of the Custer County Courthouse. Remember:

~Next up~
We are looking forward to our visit at Fawn Hollow, our MisAdventure Ranch in the Colorado Rockies. We are hoping to find some work around Custer County this summer and enjoy our ranch and all the wild animals that visit. Our niece Kimberly is getting married May 1st in Cañon City. The Pickett Family Reunion will be early in June at our ranches near Westcliffe, Colorado with Bill hosting. Stay tuned for the continuing MisAdventures of David and JoEllen.
Workampers are adventurous individuals, couples and families who have chosen a wonderful lifestyle that combines ANY kind of part-time or full-time work with RV camping. If you work as an employee, operate a business, or donate your time as a volunteer, AND you sleep in an RV (or on-site housing), you are a Workamper! Most Workampers are in their 50's and 60's, however there are many who are younger and many who are older. A little more than half of all Workampers work to supplement their retirement income, while the rest work to support a full-time, or near full-time, RV lifestyle. Most Workamper jobs are in the Outdoor Hospitality Industry (resorts, campgrounds, theme parks, state/national parks, etc.), but there are many very interesting jobs available in other areas as well. Part-time or full-time, short-term or long-term, there is something for everyone!

We had dreamed for years of Quitting Our Jobs, buy a Fifth Wheel Camper and live our lives on the road, full time RVing. We invite you to follow our adventures by viewing the Great Ongoing MisAdventure webpages. Our past wanderings are also available for your viewing pleasure by clicking on the Our MisAdventures links.

This site is hosted by Site Ground, it's fun and easy to start your own MisAdventure webpages. Just click to begin your own fun!

Lord, let us live with joy in our hearts, knowing you will grant us strength and keep us safe in our travels. Amen
