At home in the mall parking lot.
Tree sales are over! We have moved westward onto the Sonoran Desert and settled once again at our winter Quartzsite home. Bill and Stella were here waiting for us to arrive. JoEllen's Uncle Marvin is also here enjoying the winter desert, all parked in Tyson Wash BLM Long Term Visitor Area.
We finished the tree season Christmas Eve at dusk and dined on Italian Delights of the traditional fish dinner. Squid Stew is the favorite of most who try it, followed with Cod and Shrimp bathed in olive oil, spices, garlic and green olives. Thin pasta is slathered in olive oil and fresh garlic and spiced just right for Christmas memories
After working too many hours a day for too many days, it has taken a little time to R & R and get back into doing things again. We arrived at the Sierra Vista Mall parking lot on October 11 for pumpkin sales; we left the parking lot December 27. Living in a Mall parking lot for that long, SUCKS! Toby didn’t like it either with the windows blocked with reflective foam in an attempt to keep the light and noise out of the house.
Tree sales at our lot were very good; the owner was pleased with our efforts. With no training, we ran the lot like it was our own. Six teen boys worked for us along with an Army CWO selling trees for play cash and another fine gentleman named Patrick for a total of 8 employees. (If I used VP Joe’s math, that would be 402 jobs created or saved!!!) We only sent 27 trees to the shredder after selling over 1100 trees. This was the most physical job that David has ever had. Weight came off easily and fat was replaced by muscle, now the hard part begins, keeping the weight off.
The Great Workamping MisAdventure Part II has ended! We sold 1102 Christmas trees, opening the lot the day before Thanksgiving. Now for some needed time off spending the rest of winter in Quartzsite, Arizona.
Have posted The Great Workamping MisAdventure, with lots of pictures of our first camphosting job in Oregon for your enjoyment. The Fall 2009 page is ready documenting our travels from Oregon to Arizona. Also new is The Great Tree Sales Mis-Adventure.

Workampers are adventurous individuals, couples and families who have chosen a wonderful lifestyle that combines ANY kind of part-time or full-time work with RV camping. If you work as an employee, operate a business, or donate your time as a volunteer, AND you sleep in an RV (or on-site housing), you are a Workamper! Most Workampers are in their 50's and 60's, however there are many who are younger and many who are older. A little more than half of all Workampers work to supplement their retirement income, while the rest work to support a full-time, or near full-time, RV lifestyle. Most Workamper jobs are in the Outdoor Hospitality Industry (resorts, campgrounds, theme parks, state/national parks, etc.), but there are many very interesting jobs available in other areas as well. Part-time or full-time, short-term or long-term, there is something for everyone!

We had dreamed for years of Quitting Our Jobs, buy a Fifth Wheel Camper and live our lives on the road, full time RVing. We invite you to follow our adventures by viewing the Great Ongoing MisAdventure webpages. Our past wanderings are also available for your viewing pleasure by clicking on the Our MisAdventures links.

This site is hosted by Site Ground, it's fun and easy to start your own MisAdventure webpages. Just click to begin your own fun!

Lord, let us live with joy in our hearts, knowing you will grant us strength and keep us safe in our travels. Amen
